Introduction
Lock Service 3G is a software installed on a tablet or PC running Windows to perform operations below:
- Programming door locks
- Take audit Trail
- Troubleshoot Vingcard locks issues
For accommodation, Lock Service 3G will be referred as LS3G.
LS3G can be set in 02 ways: syncing with Visionline server OR with a local server installed on the Laptop/Tablet.
Pros and cons
Visionline server | Local server |
Audit trail can be uploaded in the server, and provided detailed information: First name, Last name, etc. | No need for connection to Visionline server to download token for power open (useful when door is dead locked and need emergency opening, operators of LS3G can download the token in front of the door) |
Need network connection to Visionline server each time syncing with server, token for power open is needed | Every modification in Visionline Network will not be updated to LS3G, this need to be done manually (ex: new doors, new users are added in Visionline system) by restoring to the most recent database in the local server |
Events cannot be uploaded to Visionline server and hence, cards are determined only by registration number. Matching registration number and first name, last name is done manually |
Security team should advise which settings their prefer.
Retrieve events in the lock

- Go to LockLog
Choose how much events needed to be downloaded.
- Plug the service cable to the laptop/tablet, verify that it is visible by the software (see picture below)
- Plug the service cable to the LCU and click readout
- Events should appear in the main panel, clicks save to retrieve those events at a latter occasion
Reading events can also be made using High-capacity keycards, step by step procedure is available here: https://iov.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/154000199693

- Plug the service cable to the laptop/tablet, verify that it is visible by the software
- Plug the service cable to the LCU and click readout
- It displays information such as firmware version in the LCU, Battery voltage on idle and load mode, etc...
Power open a lock
Before power opening a lock, power open token should be downloaded in LS3G:
It doesn't require network connection when LS3G is set with local server.
It requires a network connection to Visionline server when LS3G is set with the actual server.
In LS3G, under tools/power open, LS3G will ask for the token to be donloaded before any other operation.
- Go to Setup/ Download data from server
- choose power open token
- Credentials for Visionline is required at his step.
- When token is downloaded, go to tools/ power open
- Plug the service cable to the laptop/tablet, verify that it is visible by the software
- Plug the service cable to the LCU and click open
